"Vetter Mountain, In Service"

...being a journal of days at the fire lookout tower...the weather...the history, the dispatches...the trees and the wildflowers...the weather...the birds and the butterflies...the visitors, the smoke reports...the weather...the views from 5,908 feet elevation, high above the canyon of the Big Tujunga, Angeles National Forest, Los Angeles County, California, USA.

The Fire Lookout Program is a partnership effort between the Angeles National Forest and the Angeles National Forest Fire Lookout Association. Fire Lookout Volunteers are dedicated to preserving the historic fire lookouts and protecting the natural environment through fire detection and environmental education.
