ABDSP Borrego Palm Canyon Plants in Bloom 1 March 2021
This is list of native species observed to be in bloom in Borrego Palm Canyon on 1 March 2021 from a hike up the main Borrego Palm Canyon trail to the Palm Grove Overlook, and down the Alternate Trail.
See Bloom Reports from the Anza-Borrego Desert: 2020-2021 for the context to this page. This is a special page that just gives the blooms in one area observed on one day. See also a more complete flora of this area which includes the plants not in bloom.
See:
- Notes on the Scientific Names Used At This Site and
- Information about the order in which the species are presented, and the links from the Scientific Name and Common Name.
Some links go to special pages with more information on those species.
The column with label BW
links to the photo gallery page for each species at Fred Melgert and Carla Hoegen's BorregoWildflowers site.
The column with label iNat links to my iNat observation of the species in bloom on this trail on 1 March 2021. Note that some iNat names are different from the names used in this list. See also the complete set of iNat observations of plants in bloom that day.
If you'd like to "look over my shoulder" as I photographed each species in bloom, as well as a smaller number of plants not in bloom, start here, and click on the "right green arrow" at top right to go to subsequent observations I posted.
The number of plants in bloom is my best estimate of the number of plants I actually saw in bloom, up to a maximum of 99 plants per species.
The list has a total of at least 978 plants in bloom of 42 native species.
