The Flora of the PCT: A8b S2 to Rodriguez Truck Trail: Area Flora See The Flora of the PCT: A8 Sunrise Parking Area Junction to Highway 78 for an introduction to this checklist.
This version of the Checklist gives the plant species in the subsection from Highway S2, 0.8 miles south of Highway 78 at Scissors Crossing, to Rodriguez Truck Trail, as well as from vouchers from the surrounding area, in plant family order, with the Family and Scientific Name from the 2012 Second Edition Jepson Manual.
The column #Pls gives the minimum number of plants, up to a maximum of 99 plants, for species seen in the field survey of the first 2.4 miles on 12 April 2014, and the first 4.2 miles on 26 November 2014. Species with RT in that column were seen only by RT and Shaun Hawke in a survey of the entire trail on 5 May 2013. No abundance estimates were made in those surveys. Species with V in that column were vouchered from the trail past mile 4.2. Species given in the last section, from #196 to #212, were seen in the vicinity of the trail, but not visible from the trail, if they have an estimate of the minimum number of plants. Ones with a blank in that column were vouchered from the area of the trail, but not near the trail.
For species seen by us, an abbreviation is sometimes given just before the number of plants, to indicate uncertain determinations; see abbreviation for the determination uncertainties.
