The Flora of the PCT
San Gabriel Mountains D6, Highway 2 (Vincent Gap) to Highway 2 (Islip Saddle)See Information about the order in which the species are presented, and the links from the Scientific Name and Common Name.
The columns # Plants give a rough estimate of the minimum number of plants that we saw in each of the sections, with a maximum value of 99 plants. The main intent of this column is to indicate the species for which we found very few plants. An entry of x indicates a species was observed, but no estimate of abundance was yet made. An entry of y indicates a species that is either in the given section, or a neighboring section. An entry of ? indicates that the species might be present in a given section, but it wasn't recorded at the time.
Section D6 is divided into four segments, as follows:
- D6a Vincent Gap to Mt. Baden-Powell (3.8 miles, +2800 feet) (See its Plant Trail Guide)
- D6b Mt. Baden-Powell to Throop Peak (2.6 miles, +400, -800 feet)
- D6c Throop Peak to Windy Gap (2.9 miles, -1300 feet)
- D6d Windy Gap to Islip Saddle (2.4 miles, -900 feet)
The species list is given separately for each section.
