Fires in the San Bernardino Mountains

The Willows fire was reported to be "Southern California's largest forest fire in eight decades", so whether the 1919 fire was in the San Bernardino Mountains is unclear. But this seems to be a slight exaggeration, since the Laguna Fire in San Diego County in 1970 burned 175,425 acres. But maybe the person quoted in the L.A. Times didn't count Laguna as a forest....
