Plant Checklist for PCT Mission Springs to Coon Creek, San Bernardino Mountains
Introduction This checklist is for the section of the PCT from just north of Mission Springs to Coon Creek Jumpoff. For completeness, for future field work, this checklist currently also includes species found in the section to the north, from the Coon Creek Jumpoff to Onyx Summit.
Checklist The column #Pls gives the minimum number of plants of each species found in the union of two surveys. The first was on 22 July 2014, by Tom Chester, RT Hawke, Walt Fidler and Adrienne Ballwey from just north of Mission Spring to Coon Creek Jumpoff. The second was on 3 August 2018, by Tom Chester, Keir Morse and Nancy Accola from Coon Creek Jumpoff south 3.2 miles to where the PCT switches from the Coon Creek drainage to the Heart Bar Creek drainage. An "x" in this column indicates a species that was observed in this section, but for which no abundance estimate was made. Species with no entries in this column were either found only in the section from Coon Creek Jumpoff to Onyx Summit, or had vouchers from close to the PCT from Mission Spring to Coon Creek Jumpoff.
